Ho Chi Minh City Tours – Explore Saigon and Cu Chi Tunnels

$36 per person

Ho Chi Minh City or Saigon, located in the southern part of Vietnam, is still called Saigon by most locals. This modern city is considered by the French to be “Pearl of the Orient”. Saigon River, with a large turn from the east of Saigon, connects the city with the sea. Unlike Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, Saigon – Ho Chi Minh City may lack charm and elegance. But this city with its essential French characteristics is enough to attract the attention of tourists. Join Ho Chi Minh City Tour Cu Chi Tunnels to explore all amazing things in this city.

Previously, the tunnels in Cu Chi was a resistance base. A solid defensive system was deep in the ground of our nation during the Indochina War and Vietnam War. Dubbed the “underground city” of Cu Chi Tunnels, it not only has a tunnel system like a maze but also a lot of rooms, clinics, kitchens, warehouses, working rooms, etc with a system of steaming out the bushes in the forest.

With our Ho Chi Minh City Tour Cu Chi Tunnels, you will have a chance to know the history of Ho Chi Minh City, visit the most famous sites and make your own way to the Cu Chi tunnels located 70 km from Saigon to the Northwest.

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh city - Cu Chi Tunnels (L)

 ( start 8.00 – return 19.00 )

AM: HCM City

We start the trip by visiting Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office, followed by exploring the Reunification Palace, and the remarkable site of the War Remnants Museum.

PM: Cu Chi Tunnels

Located 60km from HCMC, Cu Chi is now a popular spot for both Vietnamese & foreign tourists - the network of over 200km of tunnels became legendary when they played a vital role in the War. In their heyday, the tunnels were functioning underground cities including numerous trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers & kitchens.

Today, ducks and water buffalos happily co-exist in the rivers along the side of the road. However, the peaceful rural rice paddy scenery belies the area’s violent history. Visitors will find it hard to imagine the destruction, damage & defoliation over this whole area, caused by bombing and mines. There is plenty of evidence of the fierce battle that took place here during the 1960s when Cu Chi was a "Free Target Zone".

Start our tour in the morning, before entering the tunnels visitors can watch a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed. You will spend the next hour exploring the tunnels. Afterwards, enjoy tea, cassava (guerrilla’s food during the war). Return to Sai Gon.
